SYNCHRONIZATION OF PERCEPTIONS FROM THE SENATE, CREATE INTENSE SYNERGY
Synergy is very important for the progress of the Polytechnic, because operational policies must be approved and ratified by the Senate before regulations are implemented.
A Communication Forum as a forum for information exchange and discussion between the Political Senates throughout Indonesia has been formed. Coordination in carrying out its main duties and functions (tupoksi) through this Forum, including synchronization of perceptions in relation to the Director, will mutually strengthen the performance of both.
That is the basis and hope for the establishment of the Indonesian Polytechnic Senate Communication Forum, initiated by the Jakarta State Polytechnic Senate (PNJ). Born on November 18, 2020, through a zoom meeting attended by 30 Politeknijk Senates from western to eastern Indonesia, as well as the Director of Vocational and Professional Higher Education (PTVP as the discussion leader.
On that very day, 18 November was elected by acclamation Dr. Ir. Drs, Afrizal Nursin, B, sc., MT., Chair of the Jakarta State Polytechnic Senate as Chair of the Indonesian Polytechnic Senate Communication Forum. In accordance with the agreement of the attendees, the tenure of the Committee for the Communication Forum of the Indonesian Senate Poiteknik is valid for 3 years until 17 November 2023. To complete the formation of the Forum Management, which is taken from the attendees of the Forum formation event.
Normative Functions
"Talking about the Academic Senate, there is no strategic plan, we don't talk about money, never declare finance. But the financial policy strategic plan through the Senate, which is basically related to RIP. So the level of duty is thought, not execution. The function of the Senate is not as a legislative body, continued the Chair of the elected Forum, but rather as normative in order to formulate policies and carry out supervision. The Senate is not a suprerior institution and together with the Director builds the Polytechnic going forward.

Senate Oversight Function
The chairman of the Balikpapan State Polytechnic Senate, criticized the Senate's main duties and functions in terms of executive control, "If you look at a parallel structure, maybe you need a legal basis when choosing a leader so that Senate supervision can be carried out."
"For finance, supervision is carried out by the Internal Supervision System (SPI), while the learning process is carried out by the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI). Partnership Relationship
In his remarks, the Director of PNJ said that the existence of the Forum should be coordinated with the Indonesian State Polytechnic Director Forum (FDPNI), for the common perception between the Chair of the Senate and the Director. "Especially in carrying out the duties and functions of the Senate based on Article 27 of the Polytechnic Statute, so there is synchronization. Allegations of stuttering in the partnership between the Senate and the Director may lead to misunderstandings. Senate partners of Directors who should support each other, and there should always be communication between the Senate and the Chairperson, so that the solution to the problem can be resolved at each Polytechnic.
